Rapture

Aphelion Rapture is Aphelion's best of vintage blend. The fruit is sourced from vineyards spanning the length of McLaren Vale, from Blewitt Springs in the north to Sellicks Hill in the south.

The varieties change each year depending on which perform the best, though Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro are typical.

Fermentation includes a mixture of techniques including whole bunch inclusion, pre-ferment cold soaking and extended post-ferment maceration. Only the barrels that stand out as exceptional are selected for the final blend.

The wine is bottled without fining or filtration.

Deep crimson, Aphelion Rapture is medium to full bodied, packing intense black fruit flavours and assertive tannins into a refined frame. Cellaring potential is 18 years.
